Frequently Asked Questions
Is handpoke more painful than a machine?
Most clients find handpoke less painful than machine tattoos. It's often described as a repetitive plucking sensation rather than the scratching feeling of a machine. The trauma to the skin is significantly less, leading to faster healing times and less scabbing.
How long does the healing process take?
Handpoke tattoos typically heal faster than machine tattoos because the skin is less traumatized. Surface healing usually occurs within 7-10 days, while deep healing can take up to 3-4 weeks. Always follow your artist's specific advice.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Hydrate well in the 24 hours leading up to your session. Eat a substantial meal before coming in to keep your blood sugar stable. Wear comfortable clothing that provides easy access to the area to be tattooed. Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medication 24 hours beforehand.
Is the handpoke method hygienic?
Absolutely. We adhere to strict hospital-level sterilization protocols. We use sterile single-use needles, high-quality ink, and protective barriers for all equipment. Everything that touches your skin is brand new and disposed of immediately after the session.
Do you do touch-ups?
Yes, we offer one free touch-up if needed within the first 6 months after your appointment. Handpoke tattoos generally hold pigment very well, but sometimes ink can fall out during the healing process, depending on skin type and aftercare.
Can I bring someone?
Due to the intimate nature of the studio space and to maintain focus, we generally ask clients to come alone. If you need support due to anxiety or medical reasons, please let us know in advance so we can accommodate this.
